Lung cancer is one of the most common cancers in Wales. There are around 2,400 new cases in Wales every year. It kills more men and women than any other form of cancer.
When lung cancer is picked up earlier, treatment is more likely to be successful. Lung cancer can affect people of all ages, however, it starts to get more common after the age of 50. Although it is more common in smokers around one in eight people with lung cancer never smoked.
So if you have a cough for three weeks or more, it's worth contacting your GP to be on the safe side.
